I actually don’t really understand what they are trying to get at here. At first, they seem to understand the GH/RB concept, but then they try to imply that a “Beatles Video Game” would somehow degrade the music into making it some sort of sweaty ”Hard Days Night” Action-Adventure game? But if you had ever picked up a plastic guitar, you’d of course know Rock Band is nothing like that.
This game is no different than when you oldies used to grab broomsticks and mop handles and dance around as kids while air guitaring and lip syncing to the LPs. To imply that now this is somehow a bastardization of the music or its memory is entirely unfair. It argues that nobody should be able to appreciate the Beatles unless they do so exactly the way YOU did 40 years ago, and that’s just plain selfish.
