I bought a Kindle earlier this year, and have read more books in the last 10 months than I had read in the previous 8 years combined since college. I read them because the books were more affordable, easier to buy, easier to store, easier to read and easier to carry around.
If I were a writer, I would be happy that someone like me is now spending hundreds of dollars a year on books. I think it’s unfair for lovers and supporters of books to also shame me into supporting an outdated business model which was an obvious deterrent to my reading.
